Maria Takaendisa
Family Therapist and Coach
Maria is a qualified family and systemic psychotherapist. Her first discipline is in psychiatric nursing and she often brings this important perspective into her work. Maria has taught and embedded systemic ideas in child protection and child in need teams, youth offending teams, gangs and serious youth violence teams various London authorities.
She has a special interest in contextual safeguarding and working with adolescents using a trauma lens. Her approach with this client group is creative and non-conventional. In Collective Space, Maria teaches on the foundation year, management and supervision courses and she leads on bespoke programmes in working with adolescents and youth offending modules. Her students always appreciate how she encourages and promotes them to think about the wider experiences that shape people’s identities.
Maria’s management training has been the best use of Local Authority funding and her training style and approach is beautiful!
